Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez reunited on Thursday for a family event amidst ongoing divorce rumors. The couple, who hadn’t been seen together for two weeks, attended a party celebrating Affleck’s daughter Violet’s graduation.
Both Affleck and Lopez appeared somber as they arrived. They walked from their car without smiling, showing signs of tension.
They were joined by Affleck’s mother, Christopher Anne ‘Chris’ Boldt. The trio’s demeanor suggested anything but marital bliss, with Lopez wearing oversized sunglasses and keeping her head down. Affleck carried a large wicker basket filled with gifts for Violet, overflowing with pink tissue paper.
Notably, both kept their left hands covered. Affleck had been seen without his wedding band several times in the past month, though he wore it again during a solo outing last Friday.
Lopez wore a low-cut, floral tea dress with clear nylon heels, a gold heart pendant necklace, and a structured crossbody bag. Affleck complemented her look with a dark gray blazer, matching trousers, and a white button-down shirt. His mother wore an animal print blazer over an all-black outfit.
After the party, the couple left together with Affleck’s mother. He was seen opening the car door for his mom while Lopez waited for him to unlock her door. They drove to the Brentwood rental where Affleck has been staying. Shortly after, Lopez left alone in her Escalade, driven by her assistant, continuing with her busy schedule.
This reunion was their first in twelve days. Two weeks earlier, they attended a movie event with Affleck’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner and their children, showing a frosty demeanor. This sighting was their first in seven weeks since they were last seen together in late March in New York City. Recently, the couple has rarely been seen together in public, fueling separation rumors.
Lopez attended the Met Gala solo on May 6, surprising fans with Affleck’s absence. Reports soon followed, suggesting the couple couldn’t make their marriage work and were headed for a split after less than two years together. It was also reported that they had been living separately for weeks.
Only a year ago, Affleck and Lopez purchased a $60.85 million, 46,000-square-foot mansion. Since then, Affleck has moved out, and Lopez was seen house hunting alone in Beverly Hills on May 14. They also spent Memorial Day apart, with Lopez alone and Affleck attending Violet’s first graduation celebration solo, looking downcast.
Their appearances together and apart have sparked ongoing speculation about the state of their marriage.
