Pop star Mariah Carey has released a special 25th-anniversary deluxe edition of her 1999 album Rainbow through Legacy Recordings.
The Rainbow: 25th Anniversary Expanded Edition celebrates Pride Month. This digital album includes previously unreleased bonus tracks, live performances, and classic remixes. It features a new recording of “Rainbow’s End” produced by Carey and David Morales, along with two new remixes by Jermaine Dupri and David Morales.
Rainbow, Mariah Carey’s seventh studio album, was originally released on November 2, 1999. It includes the hit singles “Heartbreaker” featuring Jay-Z and “Thank God I Found You” featuring Joe and 98 Degrees, both of which topped the charts.
The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide.
Carey shared her excitement about the release on social media, writing, “When the Rainbow album was first released, the title track was a dream-like interlude that I felt was a hopeful ending to an emotional roller-coaster ride. I always hoped that one day I would get to find my rainbow’s end… I’m not sure if I have, but with #Rainbow25, I tried!”
The Rainbow: 25th Anniversary Expanded Edition is also available as a 2-LP rainbow picture disc set, which can be pre-ordered now.
