Renee Zellweger’s partner, TV presenter Ant Anstead, is set to star in a new reality show titled ‘Ant Anstead: The Naked Mechanic’. Anstead, known for hosting shows like Master Mechanics and Wheeler Dealers, will be featured in an eight-episode series focusing on his efforts to restore a centuries-old farmhouse in Bedfordshire, a property he purchased for his parents.
According to reports from The Sun, the show will highlight Anstead’s mechanical expertise as he purchases, renovates, and sells classic cars such as a Land Rover Series 3, Alfa Romeo Alfasud, and Jaguar XJS to finance the farmhouse’s restoration. Viewers can expect appearances from Anstead’s family and friends, with the possibility of Reneé Zellweger, his Oscar-winning girlfriend since 2021, making an appearance.
In anticipation of the show’s premiere, Anstead expressed his excitement, describing it as a significant and daring venture that showcases his family and an ambitious dream. He also mentioned reuniting with Jeremy Daldry, the Deputy Head of UK Factual at ITN, after a decade, highlighting the project’s personal significance.
Zellweger and Anstead began dating in 2021 after meeting on the set of the Discovery+ series ‘Celebrity IOU Joyride’, where celebrities gift refurbished cars to deserving individuals. Anstead, reflecting on their relationship, expressed gratitude for the unexpected and meaningful connections that the show facilitated.
