In 1997, under her leadership, WCLK became one of the first Atlanta stations to stream its programming. She also recognized the potential of translators, acquiring five and leveraging them for tower space on mega-towers, providing WCLK with full market coverage. In 2022, Wendy brought national attention to Atlanta by serving as Executive Producer of the first-ever Jazz Music Awards (JMA), held at the Cobb Performing Arts Center and rebroadcast on GPB. She is currently working to take the awards program national.
Wendy’s 36-year broadcasting career spans public and commercial radio and TV, including positions at Baltimore’s WEAA-FM and Pittsburgh’s WPXI-TV. She holds a BA in Communications from Bowling Green State University and an MBA in Marketing from Clark Atlanta University, where she is an Adjunct Professor of Mass Media Arts. Wendy is a founding member and chair of the African American Public Radio Consortium, providing programming to over 60 stations. Her accolades include induction into the Atlanta Tribune’s Hall of Fame.
