Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie continue their legal battle over the French winery they jointly own, Château Miraval. Recently, Jolie’s legal team requested Pitt to disclose third-party communications related to an airplane incident that reportedly triggered their divorce filing in 2016.
According to court documents obtained by People, Pitt has strongly objected to this request, labeling it as “broad and intrusive.” His legal representatives have urged the court to deny Jolie’s motion, arguing that it amounts to a sensationalist fishing expedition.
Pitt’s team asserts that he had already offered to provide sufficient documentation regarding the airplane incident, which Jolie claims was a catalyst for the divorce. They emphasize that Pitt’s voluntary disclosure should suffice to address the matter at hand.
However, Jolie’s team allegedly declined Pitt’s compromise and insisted on accessing his communications with third parties, including his advisors, regarding sensitive issues such as therapy, drug and alcohol testing, and his behavior following the incident.
Pitt’s legal team maintains that these communications are irrelevant to the ongoing legal proceedings concerning the winery.
Despite being legally declared single in 2019 after filing for divorce in 2016, Pitt and Jolie’s divorce settlement remains unresolved. Sources close to the situation have indicated ongoing discussions between their legal teams, though a final agreement has yet to be reached. The former couple, who share six children together, continues to navigate the complexities of their separation.
