Actor Glen Powell has hinted at his return to the skies in ‘Top Gun 3’, following his breakout role in ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ as Jake “Hangman” Seresin.
During a recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Powell confirmed his involvement in the upcoming sequel. When asked about upcoming projects, Powell teased, “I mean, I have a date.” Co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones eagerly questioned, “Top Gun?” to which Powell nodded, hinting at the project’s timeline.
Despite the excitement, Powell remained tight-lipped when pressed for further details. “Absolutely not,” he responded to probing questions, deflecting further discussion about the film’s specifics.
Rumors about ‘Top Gun 3’ surfaced earlier in January 2024, with reports indicating that Ehren Kruger, co-writer of ‘Maverick’, would pen the script. Paramount is hopeful that director Joseph Kosinski will return for the sequel.
In an earlier interview with Variety, Powell shared insights into the upcoming project, mentioning discussions with key figures like Kosinski, Tom Cruise, and Jerry Bruckheimer.
“There is stuff happening and it sounds very exciting,” Powell remarked, hinting at future developments in the ‘Top Gun’ universe.
