Maisy Stella and Megan Park to Receive Breakthrough Awards.
Variety’s 2024 Power of Young Hollywood celebration is set to spotlight Hollywood’s brightest emerging talents. This year’s honorees include Sabrina Carpenter, Marcello Hernández, and Sadie Sink. They have been recognized for their exceptional contributions to the entertainment industry.
The event, hosted by comedian Matt Friend, will also highlight the Young Hollywood Impact list, which features top young actors, musicians, and creators.
Friend expressed his excitement about hosting the event, saying, “I am thrilled to be hosting Variety’s 2024 Power of Young Hollywood event! It’s incredible to see the achievements of young talent, and I look forward to celebrating their success and the future of our industry. I might even sing a little ‘Espresso’ too.”
During the celebration, Variety will award the Breakthrough Award to actor Maisy Stella and director Megan Park for their work on the 2024 Sundance Film Festival fan favorite, “My Old Ass,” produced by Amazon MGM Studios. The film will be released exclusively in theaters on September 13.
The evening will feature a glamorous cocktail party with a red carpet, followed by an awards presentation. Each honoree will deliver a speech upon receiving their award.
Amazon MGM Studios and Cash App are the Premier Partners for the event, while Threads serves as an Official Partner. Last year’s Power of Young Hollywood event was held at NeueHouse on Sunset Blvd and honored figures like musician Steve Lacy and actors Noah Schnapp and Sydney Sweeney.
