The Paris 2024 women’s 10km marathon swimming event ended in a thrilling and historic victory for Sharon Van Rouwendaal of the Netherlands. The Rio 2016 Olympic champion made a remarkable comeback to become the first athlete to win two Olympic gold medals in this event.

Moesha Johnson of Australia earned the silver medal, while Italy’s Ginevra Taddeucci secured the bronze, marking Italy’s first medal in this event since 2016.
