Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith, two promising prospects for the San Jose Sharks, are quickly becoming close friends. The two have been living together since the NHL Rookie Faceoff, and their compatibility is evident.
“We both set our alarms for the same time,” Smith joked.
Both players are not only early risers but also get along well as roommates. Celebrini, the Sharks’ top pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, and Smith, who was selected fourth overall in 2023, spend a lot of time together.
“We spend a lot of time together,” Celebrini said with a smile. “If we weren’t, that would be a problem.”
While Celebrini is expected to live with Joe Thornton and Smith with Patrick Marleau in the future, they are currently sharing a hotel room.
They have also enjoyed visiting the Marleaus’ home, where they recently watched a preseason game against the Anaheim Ducks.
“He’s a great resource for us and has been really supportive,” Celebrini noted about Marleau.
Their shared living situation has helped both teenagers support each other during their first NHL training camp. As they navigate this new chapter in their careers, their friendship continues to grow.
