Showbox has released a trailer and confirmed the release date for its upcoming horror mystery film, “Devils Stay.”
Directed by Hyun Moon-seop, known for “Nightmare Teacher,” the film stars Park Shin-yang, Lee Min-ki, and Lee Re. Park is recognized for his roles in “My Lawyer” and “The Big Swindle,” while Lee Min-ki is known for “Crash” and “My Liberation Notes.” Lee Re has appeared in “It’s Okay!” and “Hellbound.”
The plot follows Seung-do (Park Shin-yang), a heart specialist, and his wife as they confront their daughter So-mi (Lee Re), who displays alarming symptoms. They decide to perform an exorcism. Priest Ban (Lee Min-ki) believes a devil possesses So-mi, and while the ritual appears successful, it ends tragically with her sudden death. During her funeral, Seung-do suspects that So-mi may still be alive. Despite his claims, no one, including Priest Ban, believes him, leading to a tense three days of uncovering the truth.
“Devils Stay” is produced by I Film Co Ltd in association with Mayday Studio and will premiere in Korea on November 14.
In a challenging period for the Korean box office, Showbox has recently celebrated success with “Exhuma,” featuring veteran actor Choi Min-sik, which grossed over $84 million.
Showbox also has several upcoming projects, including “The Verdict,” “Us and Them,” “White Blast,” and “Big Deal,” showcasing a variety of genres and talent.
