ITV Studios has announced that its dating show, “My Mum, Your Dad,” will be launched on the Brazilian streaming platform Globoplay. This marks the third international market to adopt the format this year.
Produced by Formata, the Brazilian version is currently in production and is expected to debut on Globoplay in 2025.
Created by Greg and Haley Daniels, “My Mum, Your Dad” offers a unique twist on the dating show concept. It features single parents seeking love, while their adult children secretly act as matchmakers. The show’s second season in the U.K. premiered last month and has quickly become ITVX’s top non-scripted title for the last two weeks of September. The format has also recently premiered in Poland and French Canada, where it has dominated its time slot with a 23.9% market share. The show has previously aired in countries such as Australia, the U.S., Sweden, New Zealand, France, and Germany.
Ruth Berry, managing director of Global Partnerships at ITV Studios, expressed her excitement about the show’s debut in Latin America. She believes it will resonate with local audiences and generate global interest in the format.
The deal was facilitated by Laura Rhodarmer, head of brand partnerships for the Americas at ITV Studios, and Carolina Iacia, head of formats acquisitions at Globo.
“My Mum, Your Dad” originated in the U.S. and was produced by ITV America’s ITV Entertainment in collaboration with Rombola Entertainment for HBO Max. The executive producers include Greg Daniels, known for “Upload” and “The Office,” along with Haley Daniels, Simon Thomas, Bernie Schaeffer, and showrunner Sam Dean.
