The shark thriller film “Zipline” has officially launched sales, showcasing a star-studded cast that includes Ioan Gruffudd, Ross Butler, Holland Roden, and Sonia Ammar. Gruffudd is known for his roles in “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” and the “Fantastic Four” franchise. Butler has appeared in the “Shazam!” series and “Riverdale,” while Roden is recognized for her work in “Teen Wolf” and “Mayans MC.” Ammar has credits in “Scream” and “The Equalizer 3.”
Written by George Mahaffey Jr. and directed by Magnus Martens, known for “SAS: Red Notice” and “Fear the Walking Dead,” “Zipline” marks the debut project of Simple House Films. Black Bear holds the international rights to the film.
The plot follows a group of college friends who reunite for a getaway on a tropical island. Their adventure takes a dangerous turn during a zipline excursion, which leaves them suspended hundreds of feet over a deserted lagoon. As tensions rise and the zipline begins to fail, the friends must work together to escape, only to discover an even greater danger lurking beneath the water.
Gruffudd has had a diverse career, appearing in films like “Horrible Bosses,” “San Andreas,” and TV shows such as “Harrow” and “Liar.” Beyond “Riverdale,” Butler also starred in Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why.” Roden has been featured in “Escape Room: Tournament of Champions” and “Follow Me,” while Ammar is also part of the upcoming film “Megalopolis.”
“Zipline” recently completed production and will be showcased by Black Bear to buyers at the American Film Market in November.
