Miranda Cosgrove has hinted at the possibility of an “iCarly” movie during her recent appearance on “The Talk.” The actress, known for her role as Carly Shay, indicated that there is something exciting in the works for fans of the show.
While she couldn’t confirm details, Cosgrove told hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila, Sheryl Underwood, and Natalie Morales that fans would be pleased. “I think the fans of the show are going to be super excited because we have something in the works,” she said.
When pressed about whether this project would include returning characters, Cosgrove confirmed, “Yes, and we actually ended the revival on a cliffhanger, and we’re going to wrap that up.” The original “iCarly” series aired from 2007 to 2012 for six seasons. It was rebooted in 2020 on Paramount+ but was canceled after three seasons.
The reboot continued Carly’s story a decade later, reuniting her with her brother Spencer (Jerry Trainor) and her friend Freddie (Nathan Kress) as they attempted to revive her popular web show. The third season left viewers eager to see if Carly’s mother would finally be revealed and whether Carly and Freddie would become a couple.
New cast members included Harper (Laci Mosley) and Freddie’s stepdaughter Millicent (Jaidyn Triplett). The revival was produced by Nickelodeon Studios and Awesomeness, with Cosgrove serving as an executive producer alongside Trainor and Alissa Vradenburg.
Fans are hopeful for a resolution to the storylines left open by the show’s abrupt cancellation. Cosgrove expressed her desire to bring closure to Carly’s journey and meet fan expectations.
