Charlize Theron has been confirmed as the latest addition to the star-studded ensemble of Christopher Nolan’s next project at Universal Pictures. She will join a prestigious cast that already includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, and Lupita Nyong’o.
The highly anticipated film is scheduled for an IMAX release on July 17, 2026, a date that aligns with Nolan’s previous releases, including his recent Oscar-winning film Oppenheimer.
While Universal has not yet commented on Theron’s casting, details about the film’s plot remain under wraps. Reports indicate that earlier loglines and plot descriptions circulating online are inaccurate.
Production is set to begin in early 2025.
Nolan is known for assembling diverse casts, often mixing familiar faces with newcomers to his cinematic universe. Theron, an Oscar-winning actress, will be making her debut in a Nolan film, adding another high-profile name to the director’s impressive roster.
In the meantime, Theron is preparing to start production on Apex, a survival thriller for Netflix, where she will star alongside Taron Egerton.
