Netflix has secured the international rights to Bad Boy, a new drama series from Euphoria creator Ron Leshem. The series, inspired by a true story, follows Dean, a young man who is held in a harsh juvenile detention center where he forms an unlikely friendship with a teenager convicted of murder.
Set two decades later, Bad Boy shows Dean as a successful comedian who has moved on from his troubled past — but he remains determined to keep his youthful mistakes hidden from the world.
Leshem serves as showrunner for the series, which is written and directed by Hagar Ben-Asher, known for Dead Women Walking. The cast includes Daniel Chen, Havtamo Farda, and Guy Manster.
The eight-episode series is produced and co-financed by The North Road Company and Sipur, with Israeli broadcasters HOT and Tedy Productions as co-producers. Bad Boy will premiere on HOT in Israel next year, before streaming in 190 territories worldwide on Netflix.
