Ben Stiller and Adam Scott are set to launch “The Severance Podcast” on Audacy, a companion series to their acclaimed sci-fi show “Severance.” The podcast will premiere on January 7, 2024, with two episodes dedicated to Season 1, leading up to the show’s highly anticipated second season debut on January 17.
Listeners can expect daily episodes covering Season 1 from January 8 to January 16. After that, the podcast will shift its focus to Season 2, with new episodes released every Friday following the show’s weekly airings on Apple TV+. The podcast will feature a variety of guests, including “Severance” creator Dan Erickson, executive producer Jackie Cohn, and cast members Zach Cherry, John Turturro, and Britt Lower.
Notable fans of the show, such as Jon Stewart, will also make appearances.
In “Severance,” Scott plays Mark Scout, an employee at the enigmatic Lumen Industries. The company mandates a procedure that separates employees’ memories of their work and personal lives. Throughout Season 1, Mark and his colleagues begin to uncover unsettling truths about their jobs and themselves.
In a joint statement, Stiller and Scott reflected on their experience creating the show: “We have severed ourselves from the world for five years making this show. While we have no memory of what happened during that time, we thought we should do a podcast for all the Innies who will have no recollection of watching, in an attempt to reintegrate them with their memory of the show.” They expressed their excitement about partnering with Audacy Podcasts instead of working with Lumon Industries.
The podcast will be produced by Audacy’s Pineapple Street Studios, known for creating companion podcasts for popular series like “Succession” and “The Last of Us.” Jenna Weiss-Berman, EVP of Audacy Podcasts, praised Stiller and Scott’s work on “Severance,” stating that the podcast will provide listeners with an in-depth look into the show’s universe.
“The Severance Podcast” promises to be an engaging addition for fans eager to delve deeper into the mysteries of Lumen Industries as they prepare for Season 2.
