Miles Mussenden, known for his roles in Marvel’s “Cloak & Dagger” and DC’s “Doom Patrol,” will co-star in the upcoming thriller “Croatoan,” directed by Britt Bankhead. This project marks Bankhead’s debut as a feature film director.
The cast also includes Nico Tirozzi, Grace Patterson, and Mike Markoff. Filming is set to begin in December in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas.
In “Croatoan,” Bankhead plays a father whose family road trip takes a dark turn when his son (Tirozzi) goes missing in a remote town. To find him, Bankhead’s character teams up with two detectives, portrayed by Mussenden and Patterson, as they delve into the town’s eerie supernatural legend surrounding the term “Croatoan.” The title references the mysterious disappearance of over 100 English colonists from Roanoke Island, where “Croatoan” was the only word left behind.
Mussenden previously played Otis Johnson in “Cloak & Dagger,” which ran for two seasons before its cancellation in 2019. He later appeared as Frenzy in “Doom Patrol” and has recent credits including “Tulsa King” and “Swagger.”
Bankhead not only directs but also co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Blaze. John Moio will serve as the stunt coordinator. The film is produced by Bankhead and Blaze, with Patterson also involved in production. Bankhead and Patterson are executive producers, while Gabriella Hainline takes on the role of line producer.
