Sony Music Publishing Mexico has renewed its 12-year partnership with Dulce Maria of RBD, extending the singer and actress’s contract ahead of her upcoming solo music release.
Dulce recently completed a global reunion tour with RBD, performing in stadiums and arenas across Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and the United States for over 50 shows in 2023. She is now set to release new solo music, starting with her latest single, “Ojalá,” a collaboration with Spanish artist Beret.
As a songwriter, Dulce has penned more than 30 songs, including some of RBD’s biggest hits like “Más Tuya Que Mía,” “Te Daría Todo,” and “Quiero Poder.” She has also made a significant impact as a solo artist in Brazil, collaborating with the late singer Marília Mendonça on tracks such as “Amigos con Derechos” and “Ela Ta Movimentando.”
In a statement, Dulce expressed her pride in renewing her deal with Sony Music Publishing. She stated, “For 12 years, they have protected and promoted my work as a composer, which is a fundamental part of my creative process. Since I discovered the power of telling my stories through my art, composition has become my passion.”
Dulce’s recent “Soy Rebelde Tour” ranked No. 10 on Pollstar’s list of highest-grossing North American tours of 2023. The tour grossed an average of $4,350,050, making it the second-highest Latin music tour of the year, following Karol G.
Reflecting on her journey, Dulce said, “From the age of 11, I began to write and compose my first songs. After participating in the Spanish-language drama series Class 406, I attended Fermatta, a music school affiliated with Berklee, to study composition. However, I had to pause my studies when Rebelde started, which allowed me to reach many hearts across various countries. My desire to share my stories and emotions through music has always guided me.”
