Taylor Swift was absent from boyfriend Travis Kelce’s recent game with the Kansas City Chiefs. The 35-year-old singer did not attend the Chiefs’ match against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, December 15, which took place in Kelce’s home state of Ohio.
Swift had just wrapped up her record-breaking Eras Tour earlier this month before heading to Kansas City. On December 12, the day before her 35th birthday, she made a surprise visit to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, where she spent time with pediatric patients. Swift took photos, filmed TikToks, and gave away autographed Eras Tour merchandise.
“We can’t shake it off — the excitement, smiles, and laughter that filled our halls yesterday as @taylorswift13 visited patients in Kansas City,” the hospital shared on X (formerly Twitter) on December 13. “Thank you and happy birthday from all your fans at Children’s Mercy!”
Swift had just concluded her Eras Tour with nine shows in Toronto and Vancouver. The Canadian performances marked her first since her album The Tortured Poets Department received six Grammy nominations.
During a November concert, Swift expressed her gratitude to fans, sharing, “You guys did something so amazing over the course of the last few months with what you did with embracing Tortured Poets Department… It’s truly blown my mind.”
The 14-time Grammy winner also praised her fans for helping keep her album at No. 1 for nearly four months, attributing the album’s success to their support.
Between her history-making Eras Tour dates, Swift has been attending Kelce’s home games. She has frequently been seen sitting with Kelce’s family and friends. Since beginning their relationship in summer 2023, Swift has become an enthusiastic member of Chiefs Kingdom.
In a 2023 interview with TIME, Swift explained her public relationship with Kelce, saying, “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care.”
Swift added, “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
She also shared her newfound appreciation for football, saying, “Football is awesome, it turns out. I’ve been missing out my whole life.”
