Travis Kelce wasn’t bothered by his brother Jason Kelce’s playful mention of his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, during their Dec. 24 podcast episode.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who has been in the spotlight for his relationship with Swift, knows his brother’s sense of humor well. On their New Heights podcast, Jason brought up a discount code featuring the number 13, a number that holds special meaning for Swift, who was born on December 13.
Jason teased, “I wonder what the 13 is for? It’s probably because it’s my favorite number, right?”
Without missing a beat, Travis responded, “Yeah. Or maybe it was just Friday the 13th a few weeks ago.”
The date Jason referred to, December 13, coincidentally fell on a Friday this year, aligning with Swift’s 35th birthday.
Jason, not missing the opportunity to continue the banter, added, “I was number 13 in hockey.”
The exchange was a lighthearted moment on the brothers’ podcast, coming shortly after Travis praised Swift for wrapping up her historic Eras Tour. On the Dec. 11 episode, Travis remarked, “Shoutout to Tay. The unbelievable Eras Tour has finally come to an end.”
He continued, “Over 10 million people in the stands over the course of it, like cumulatively. It’s pretty crazy.”
Swift, in turn, has been a strong supporter of Travis. Just days before the Kelce brothers’ podcast episode, she was seen cheering on the Chiefs as they defeated the Houston Texans on December 21.
As Travis’ NFL season continues, Swift is expected to keep showing up at games to support him. In an interview with Time in December 2023, she shared her philosophy on attending his games: “We’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care.”
She also addressed the media attention that comes with her presence at games. “There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is. I’m just there to support Travis,” she explained. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
