Organizers of the highly anticipated Fan Expo San Francisco have revealed that renowned actor Ewan McGregor will be gracing the event with his presence this fall. The second edition of the expo is scheduled to take place over Thanksgiving weekend, from November 24th to 26th, promising an exciting celebration of pop culture, comics, and gaming, attracting fans of all ages.
As the “Star Wars” actor, famous for his portrayal of the young Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequel films and the Disney+ series franchise, McGregor’s appearance is eagerly awaited by enthusiasts. He is set to attend the event on November 25th and 26th, with a special “Ewan McGregor: Live” experience planned for 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
McGregor joins a star-studded lineup of guests that includes James Marsters, known for his role as Spike in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” Sean Gunn from “Guardians of the Galaxy,” Peter Weller, the original “RoboCop,” Carl Weathers, famous for portraying Apollo Creed in the “Rocky” film franchise, and Jonathan Frakes, renowned for his role in “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” among others.
The three-day family-friendly extravaganza will not only feature celebrity appearances but also offer attendees plenty of photo opportunities, cosplay competitions, and a diverse range of demos and workshops to engage in.
According to show director Missy Morris, Fan Expo San Francisco aims to surpass the success of the previous year and become a cherished holiday tradition for San Francisco. The expo is being hosted at the Moscone Center by Fan Expo HQ, the world’s largest comic convention producer, who has committed to organizing the event for five years.
For those eager to secure their spots, a limited number of advance tickets are available online until November 10th. These tickets come with attractive discounts of $10 off single-day tickets (usually starting at $40) and $20 off three-day passes, ultimate fan packages, and family packages, which typically range from $85 to $149.
Last year’s event featured prominent guests like Dante Basco, recognized for his role as Rufio in Steven Spielberg’s “Hook,” and comic artist Arthur Adams, known for his work on various Marvel comics, including “Fantastic Four” and “The Uncanny X-Men.” Attendees also enjoyed exciting activities such as cosplay red carpet, artist’s alley, engaging panel discussions, and a show floor offering merchandise for purchase.
