The new Hulu series Paradise, starring Sterling K. Brown, has garnered 7 million views in its first nine days of streaming across Hulu and Disney+1567. The political drama, created by This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman, premiered on January 26, 2025, with a surprise early release of its first episode. The remaining episodes from the eight-episode season will be released weekly on Tuesdays.
Disney calculates a “view” by dividing the total streaming time of an episode by its runtime. The premiere episode, titled “Wildcat Is Down,” runs for just over 48 minutes.
For comparison, The Bear Season 3 premiere had 5.4 million views in its first four days. However, The Bear released all episodes at once, unlike Paradise1. Paradise has also consistently ranked in Hulu’s Top 15 list since its debut.
Paradise centers on Secret Service agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) and his assignment to protect former President Cal Bradford (James Marsden). The show takes a turn when President Bradford is murdered, and Collins becomes the prime suspect.
In addition to its streaming success, the premiere episode was broadcast on ABC and FX1. The ABC broadcast drew 1.4 million viewers, while the FX debut had 250,000 viewers. Hulu also reports that Paradise’s TikTok account has the most views and shares of any first-season scripted Hulu show in the last year.
