The annual Roots Picnic is set to return to Philadelphia, featuring a star-studded lineup that includes D’Angelo, Lenny Kravitz, and Meek Mill. The festival will take place at The Mann Center in Fairmount Park on May 31 and June 1, 2025.
D’Angelo will make a highly anticipated comeback to the stage, performing alongside The Roots. His last public performance was at the Hollywood Bowl during the Netflix is a Joke Comedy Festival in 2022.
Other notable artists scheduled to perform include GloRilla, Latto, Tems, Jeezy, Kaytranada, Pusha T, Musiq Soulchild, and 2 Chainz. More performers will be announced in the coming weeks.
Several artists will celebrate significant anniversaries during the festival. Jeezy will mark the 20th anniversary of his album “Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101,” while Musiq Soulchild will honor the 25th anniversary of his debut album “Aijuswanaseing.” The Roots will also celebrate the 30th anniversary of their album “Do You Want More?!!!??!”
In addition to the main performances, attendees can enjoy various day parties including Trap Karaoke and Chill Vibes featuring DJ Aktive. J. Period will host a Live Mixtape event with Black Thought, Pusha T, and 2 Chainz.
Last year’s Roots Picnic featured performances from artists such as André 3000, Jill Scott, and Gunna, along with a tribute to New Orleans by Lil Wayne.
Presale tickets for Roots Picnic 2025 will be available starting February 18 at 10 a.m. ET, with general sales beginning on February 21 at the same time.
