Drake and PartyNextDoor’s collaborative album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, has reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200, knocking Kendrick Lamar’s GNX from the top spot. The album secured 246,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. this week, according to Luminate. This marks PartyNextDoor’s first No. 1 album and Drake’s 14th, tying him with Jay-Z and Taylor Swift for the most No. 1 albums among solo artists. Only The Beatles, with 19 No. 1 albums, have more.
Lamar’s GNX, which topped the chart last week following his Super Bowl performance, has dropped to No. 3 with 136,000 album units this week. Despite this, Lamar’s 2017 album Damn and 2012’s Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City both reentered the top 10, with Damn climbing from No. 29 to No. 9, and Good Kid rising from No. 28 to No. 10.
The release of $ome $exy $ongs 4 U also achieved the largest streaming week for any album this year, accumulating 287.04 million streams. This figure trails only GNX’s 379.72 million streams during its No. 1 debut in December 2024.
In other chart news, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet, which recently received a deluxe reissue, moved to No. 2 this week with 156,000 album units. The reissue includes five new songs, including features from Dolly Parton and tracks like “15 Minutes” and “Bad Reviews.” The reissue helped the album achieve its best week since debuting at No. 1 last September.
