Blake Lively has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the latest cover of The Hollywood Reporter, which features an illustration of her legal dispute with It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni. The cover, titled “Blake vs. Baldoni: An Exclusive Look Behind the Battle Lines of Hollywood’s Uncivil War,” includes a graphic of Lively using a cellphone as a slingshot, aiming at Baldoni. This image is part of a David and Goliath theme.
Lively’s representative condemned the illustration as “sexist,” stating that it perpetuates negative stereotypes about women who file workplace complaints. The statement to E! News emphasized that the image portrays Lively as the aggressor and implies she deserves retaliation, which is “outrageously insulting.”
The cover also includes illustrations of Ryan Reynolds, Lively’s husband, and references to other figures involved in the dispute, such as Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman.
Background on the Legal Dispute
Blake Lively is currently suing Justin Baldoni for alleged sexual harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy, and lost wages. In response, Baldoni has filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and their publicist, Leslie Sloane, for defamation and extortion.
Lively’s lawsuit claims that Baldoni created a hostile work environment and engaged in inappropriate behavior during the filming of It Ends With Us. An amended complaint filed by Lively also alleges that other women on the set felt uncomfortable due to Baldoni’s actions, and they are willing to testify in support of her claims.
Baldoni denies these allegations, asserting that Lively and her team are attempting to damage his reputation and seize control of the film. The legal battle between the two actors continues to draw significant attention in the entertainment industry.
