Toronto-based Underknown is set to launch a new FAST streaming channel inspired by the long-running magazine Popular Science. This channel will be available on various platforms, including FUBO, Plex, Sling Freestream, Vizio, and Local Now.
Key Features of the Channel
Live Rocket Launches: The channel will provide live coverage of rocket launches, offering viewers real-time access to significant space events.
Spaceflight Programs: It will serve as a broadcasting hub for series like “This Week in Spaceflight” and “Starbase Update” from NASA Spaceflight, providing in-depth insights into space exploration.
YouTube Creators: The channel will feature content from popular YouTube science creators such as Hacksmith and Complexly, along with productions from Underknown, including “What If,” “How to Survive,” “Animalogic,” and “Aperture.”

Partnerships and Management
The Popular Science brand is owned by Recurrent Ventures Inc., which is licensing it for the new channel. The launch is being managed by acTVe, a company specializing in FAST channel management, which will also oversee the technological infrastructure.
