Hulu’s “Prison Break” reboot pilot has secured three leading actors: Emily Browning, Lukas Gage, and Drake Rodger. The pilot, announced in December, is set in the same universe as the original series but features new characters and a fresh storyline. Details about the plot remain under wraps for now.
Cast Roles
Emily Browning will play Cassidy Collins, an ex-soldier who becomes a corrections officer at one of America’s deadliest prisons. Browning is known for her roles in “American Gods,” “The Affair,” and “Class of ’07.” She recently starred in the film “One More Shot,” which premiered at SXSW.
Lukas Gage will portray Jackson, a politician from a wealthy background running his first congressional campaign. Gage has gained recognition for his roles in “The White Lotus,” “Euphoria,” and “You” Season 4.
Drake Rodger will take on the role of Tommy, an inmate who has been incarcerated for ten years in one of the deadliest prisons. Rodger recently starred in “The Winchesters” and appeared in “Landman.”
Production Team
The reboot is written and executive produced by Elgin James, known for his work on “Mayans M.C.” and “The Outlaws.” Other executive producers include Dawn Olmstead, Paul Scheuring (the original creator of “Prison Break”), Marty Adelstein, and Neal Moritz. The project is produced by 20th Television, which also produced the original series.
This new iteration of “Prison Break” is expected to offer a unique narrative while maintaining the essence of the original series, which captivated audiences with its gripping storylines and characters. The original series followed the story of Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, but this reboot will not feature those characters. Instead, it will introduce new characters and storylines to captivate both old and new fans of the franchise.
