As anticipation builds for Giovanni Pernice’s return to the Strictly Come Dancing stage, the talented dancer has been quietly immersing himself in a ‘secret’ project, a venture he recently hinted at to his avid social media followers.
Almost two years have passed since Giovanni triumphed on the Strictly dance floor, claiming the coveted Glitterball trophy alongside EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis. Their exceptional partnership and mesmerizing performances left an indelible mark on fans’ memories.
After clinching the victory in 2021, expectations were high for Giovanni’s subsequent appearances, but his journey on the dance floor last year fell short of the mark. Unfortunately, he and partner Richie Edwards were the second couple eliminated by the judges.
With the new season of Strictly just around the corner, fans are hopeful that Giovanni will make a triumphant comeback. Nevertheless, his preparations were briefly derailed when an injury sustained during a show with Strictly pro turned judge Anton Du Beke sidelined him from participating in several pre-recorded professional numbers for the upcoming year.
Giovanni, however, has revealed that he has been occupied with an entirely different endeavor over the past month. In an Instagram post shared on Monday, he offered a glimpse into his recent activities, posting an image of himself surrounded by cameras along with the caption: “And that’s a wrap… the last 3 weeks away filming something very special and I can’t wait to share it all with you!”
Expressing his eagerness for Strictly 2023, Giovanni concluded his post by affirming, “Now back to London and ready to put my dance shoes back on… @bbcstrictly here I come!”
Although Anton’s presence was absent from the images Giovanni shared, many fans took to the comments section to speculate that he might have been filming a second series of the popular BBC travel show that he and Anton co-host, with one follower suggesting, “You have been missed! Looking forward to yours and Mr. Du Beke’s adventures, volume 2!”
