Jennifer Lopez will host the 2025 American Music Awards, set to air on CBS this Memorial Day, Dick Clark Productions announced Wednesday. This marks Lopez’s second time hosting the show, 10 years after her first appearance in 2015.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jennifer Lopez back,” said Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions. “Her incredible talent and stage presence make her the perfect host for the AMAs, and we’re excited to see her bring her energy to the summer celebration.”
Lopez hinted at her return when she appeared on the AMAs’ 50th anniversary special six months ago. The AMAs have now moved to a Memorial Day time slot, shifting from their usual fall position.
While this will be Lopez’s second time hosting, she has performed on the show over 10 times. The 51st edition of the AMAs will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on May 26 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
The AMAs will also pay tribute to U.S. troops and veterans through performances. For the first time, the show will be broadcast from Las Vegas. This marks the first AMAs show on CBS after a long-term deal with ABC ended.
The success of the 50th anniversary special in November, which saw a ratings boost from previous years, suggests strong anticipation for the return of the annual broadcast.
