Apple TV+ has secured the global rights to the documentary Come See Me in the Good Light, which won the 2025 Sundance Festival Favorite award. The film is set to premiere this fall on the streaming platform.
Directed by Ryan White, the documentary also earned the audience award at the Boulder Film Festival, Cleveland International Film Festival, and Full Frame Documentary Film Festival.
The film tells the powerful and unexpectedly humorous love story of poets Andrea Gibson and Megan Falley. The couple faces an incurable cancer diagnosis with resilience, joy, and unwavering partnership. As the synopsis explains, through laughter and love, they transform pain into purpose, celebrating life even in the face of mortality.
Variety’s review praised the film for its emotional depth, with Lisa Kennedy noting the filmmakers’ intimate approach. She wrote, “Gibson and Falley are generous in sharing their journey through the medical challenges, allowing viewers into their home and accompanying them to oncologist visits and chemotherapy treatments.”
White, known for his previous works Pamela, A Love Story, The Keepers, and Visible: Out on Television, produced the documentary alongside Jessica Hargrave, Tig Notaro, and Stef Willen.
The film features an original song co-written by Grammy winners Sara Bareilles and Brandi Carlile, along with Andrea Gibson.
WME and Submarine represented the documentary in its sale to Apple TV+.
The executive producers include Glennon Doyle, Abby Wambach, Lauren Haber, Joe Lewis, Rachel Eggebeen, Colin King Miller, Catherine Carlile, Brandi Carlile, Susan Yeagley, Kevin Nealon, Galia Gichon, Bareilles, Amanda Doyle, Christi Offutt, Soraida Bedoya, Melony Lewis, and Adam Lewis.
Looking ahead, Apple Original Films will release F1, starring Brad Pitt, on June 27 in theaters, along with Fountain of Youth, directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Natalie Portman and John Krasinski.
