The Renaissance World Tour may have come to an end in Kansas City last Sunday, but it’s safe to say it was a smashing success for Beyoncé.
Live Nation has announced that the superstar’s global trek has grossed more than $579 million worldwide, with 2.7 million fans attending 56 dates in 39 cities. The tour, produced by Parkwood Entertainment and promoted by Live Nation, was a cultural phenomenon, with fans dressed in their finest silver outfits meticulously documenting every stop on social media. She made history at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in north London, where she played five nights – the most any artist has had at the stadium since it opened in 2019 – to 238,000 fans across all shows.
Shortly after leaving the stage at the finale in Kansas City, Beyonce revealed that she would be bringing the tour to cinemas in December, releasing the trailer for Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce”. Ticket pre-sales were quickly made available at theatre chains including AMC, Regal and Cinemark, with the film set for release on December 1.
The trailer features footage of her daughter (and perennial tour guest star) Blue Ivy Carter rehearsing, as well as her and Jay-Z’s twins, Rumi and Sir. Insiders claim the film will include highlights from the Renaissance World Tour and footage from the album’s recording sessions, as well as the long-awaited music videos for songs from the project.
Beyoncé originally released ‘Renaissance’ in July 2022 and teased the tour three months later. The Renaissance World Tour kicked off in Stockholm, Sweden on 10 May and continued across Europe before landing in Toronto on 8 July. Throughout the tour, Beyoncé led a team of more than 300 touring crew members and hosted guests including Kendrick Lamar, Megan Thee Stallion and Diana Ross.
