A tense altercation unfolded between Candice Warner and influencer Skye Wheatley during the latest episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, with retired ironwoman Warner labeling the Instagram star as “selfish.”
The confrontation, which left fellow campmates stunned, saw the wife of Australian cricketer David Warner accusing Wheatley of withholding her contraband when filming commenced, unlike the rest of the cast who surrendered their prohibited items.
Wheatley, known for her stint on the 2014 season of Big Brother, had a lipstick concealed in her bag, which she eventually relinquished after Warner’s call-out.
“Why did you selfishly keep it when we were all required to surrender ours? It’s just lip gloss, move on,” Warner retorted to Wheatley’s defense.
Wheatley argued that the lip gloss “wasn’t the issue,” leading to a back-and-forth exchange before AFL legend Peter Daicos intervened, urging both women to cease their verbal sparring.
This emotional exchange led Wheatley to tears, prompting her to apologize to Warner. “I’m not upset about the lip gloss. I just dislike confrontation. I apologize, Candice, I felt hurt in the moment,” she expressed.
Warner responded, highlighting her discomfort when accused of undermining teamwork. “I’m hurt when someone accuses me of throwing them under the bus when this is a collective effort. You said I did that, which I didn’t.”
Former Hollywood child star Frankie Muniz, observing the confrontation, expressed disbelief at the intensity of the argument, remarking on the surprising escalation on just the third day.
Later in the episode, both Warner and Wheatley extended apologies to each other for the heated exchange.
In an interview with news.com.au prior to entering the jungle, mother-of-three Warner emphasized her preference for genuine and supportive individuals. “I value authenticity and support among people. If someone is causing trouble or hurting others, that’s likely to lead to conflict,” Warner stated.
“For me, it’s about lifting others up, providing encouragement, because we’re all here with different objectives. We’re either facing fears or navigating different career stages. So, let’s make the most of this opportunity together.”
