In an exciting development for fans, the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise is gearing up for a reboot. Renowned movie producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who has been involved in all five of the Johnny Depp-starring films inspired by the Walt Disney theme park ride, recently shared insights into plans for the upcoming sixth installment.
During a discussion with Comicbook.com, Bruckheimer hinted at the possibility of a new film featuring Margot Robbie. However, he acknowledged that a reboot might take precedence due to its easier production feasibility. He explained, “It will be easier to put together,” highlighting the logistical advantages of initiating a reboot.
When questioned about the timing of a new Top Gun movie compared to the next Pirates sequel, Bruckheimer expressed uncertainty, emphasizing the unpredictability of film projects. He elaborated, “You don’t know how they come together. You just don’t know.”
Bruckheimer previously disclosed that there are two Pirates concepts in progress, expressing optimism about both ideas eventually materializing into films. Reflecting on this in a 2022 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he mentioned, “We developed two of them – the one with Margot Robbie and one with a younger cast.” He indicated that while the Margot Robbie project requires further refinement, the one with a younger cast is nearing completion. He expressed hope that both projects would see the light of day.
Addressing speculation about the fate of the Margot Robbie project, Bruckheimer maintained its viability, stating, “It’s alive for me. It’s alive for Disney.” He acknowledged potential scheduling advantages for Robbie, given her busy agenda, and remained confident in the strength of the storyline, expressing belief that the project would come to fruition.
