Taylor Swift is stepping up to assist in the wake of the devastating wildfires that have ravaged parts of Los Angeles. In an Instagram post on Thursday afternoon, the pop star shared her support for relief efforts and encouraged others to contribute.
“The fires in California have devastated so many families,” Swift wrote, expressing her heartbreak over the ongoing destruction. “There’s so much suffering, loss, and destruction.”
As many residents face some of the toughest challenges of their lives, Swift highlighted the efforts of various organizations dedicated to helping rebuild affected communities.
“These are the organizations I’ve donated to. If you feel compelled or able to donate, please do,” she added.
Swift’s donations have been directed to several key groups, including 211 LA, the California Community Foundation Fund, Direct Relief, the Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. Other recipients include the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Los Angeles Unified School District Education Foundation Emergency Relief Fund, MusiCares, and the Pasadena Educational Foundation Eaton Fire Response Fund.
The singer’s contribution comes amid a wave of celebrity donations to the cause. Notable figures such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Paris Hilton, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Eva Longoria have also pledged support. A star-studded lineup including Lady Gaga, Joni Mitchell, Katy Perry, Stevie Nicks, and others will perform at the FireAid benefit concert on January 30 at the Inglewood Dome and Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
The wildfires have been catastrophic, with more than 15,000 acres scorched in Pacific Palisades and Malibu, and the Eaton fire in Altadena burning through over 10,000 acres.
The financial toll on Los Angeles is staggering, with damage costs projected to exceed $250 billion and continuing to rise.
