Heather Locklear, known for her roles in primetime dramas like “Melrose Place,” took a trip down memory lane recently. She shared memories of her wedding to Tommy Lee, exactly 30 years ago today.
Locklear, now 54, shared a photo from their wedding on May 10, 1986, on Instagram. The picture captures the essence of an ’80s wedding, complete with big hair and extravagant outfits, especially Lee’s outrageous white attire.
In another post marking the occasion, Locklear shared a photo from March of that year, just before their wedding, where they appear affectionate. She captioned it with “Happy 30 years baby.”
Their wedding, held at the Santa Barbara Biltmore, was a mix of glam and rockstar flair. Around 500 guests witnessed the ceremony, with Lee in a white leather tuxedo chewing bubble gum as he walked down the aisle, adding a playful touch by tossing it into a bush. Locklear, in a fitted mermaid-style dress, giggled throughout the ceremony, which included the release of white doves.
Locklear and Lee first met at an REO Speedwagon concert and quickly fell in love. Their relationship was marked by spontaneous gestures, like Lee getting a tattoo of Locklear’s name six months into dating and proposing with a 2.3-carat diamond ring during a drive.
Despite their initial enthusiasm, their marriage ended in 1993. Locklear went on to marry Richie Sambora, while Lee famously wed Pamela Anderson. Currently, Lee is engaged to singer Sofia Toufa, while Locklear is dating plastic surgeon Dr. Marc Mani.
While Locklear reminisces fondly about their past, Lee has not publicly commented on her posts about their anniversary.
