Charlamagne Tha God Claims Diddy Influenced Wendy Williams’ Departure from Hot 97 Over Alleged “Gay” Remarks.
In a recent episode of comedian Andrew Schulz’s Flagrant podcast, Charlemagne Tha God, co-host of The Breakfast Club and cultural commentator, made allegations regarding Diddy’s role in the departure of troubled talk show host Wendy Williams from Hot 97, citing claims about Diddy’s sexuality.
Charlamagne discussed the longstanding history between Williams, whom he considers a mentor, and Diddy, dating back nearly three decades.
“Wendy’s perspective was that Diddy was gay,” Charlamagne revealed. “That’s why Wendy was let go from Hot 97. Diddy had her let go from Hot 97 because that’s when Bad Boy was at its peak. She was let go for putting that information out there.”
Williams allegedly possessed a photo of Diddy in a compromising position with another man, implying that Diddy was homosexual, which reportedly led to her dismissal from the radio station in 1998.

Former Bad Boy bodyguard Gene Deal discussed Williams’ dismissal in a 2022 interview with Art Of Dialogue.
“The influence [Diddy] had over New York radio stations was immense. No one dared to cross [Diddy] without consequences,” he stated. “[Diddy] had a prominent DJ removed from Hot 97 because she planned to post a photo of him in a compromising position. [Diddy] informed Hot 97 that unless they terminated her employment before his return to New York, they would face a boycott from his associates and the music industry executives allied with him.”
Rumors regarding Diddy’s sexual orientation have circulated for years, with recent mentions in a sexual assault lawsuit where producer Lil Rod accused the mogul of inappropriate behavior and attempting to manipulate him into a sexual encounter with fellow producer Stevie J.
