Over the weekend, “Inside Out 2” gave the box office a much-needed boost with a record-breaking $155 million domestic opening. Pixar’s acclaimed sequel also set a new record for the biggest opening ever for an animated film globally, capturing most of the media attention. However, not to be overshadowed is the success of “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” which held its ground against Disney’s animated giant and reaffirmed Will Smith’s status as a top Hollywood star.
While “Inside Out 2” dominated the box office, “Ride or Die” experienced only a 40% drop in its second weekend, earning another $33.7 million domestically. This follows the film’s impressive $56.5 million debut the previous weekend. Internationally, the fourth installment of the “Bad Boys” franchise added nearly $31 million over the weekend, bringing its total global earnings to $214.6 million.
