Hot Toys, known for its highly detailed collectibles, recently unveiled a new addition to its lineup—an intricately crafted figure of Jake Sully (portrayed by Sam Worthington) from the 2022 sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water. This announcement follows closely on the heels of the reveal of a Hugh Jackman Wolverine Hot Toy inspired by his role in the upcoming film Deadpool & Wolverine. Additionally, Hot Toys delighted fans last week with a new Anakin Skywalker figure based on his appearance in Episode 2 – Attack of the Clones.
The Jake Sully Hot Toy figure features various movie-inspired accessories, including his iconic rifle, often seen in his hand or slung over his shoulder as he prepares for battle. The figure also includes his hatchet, used prominently in the final fight scene against Colonel Miles Quaritch (played by Stephen Lang), and a knife stored in a chest holster. Completing the ensemble is a stand resembling Pandora fauna, featuring an LED display that adds a captivating visual element.
The decision to create a Hot Toy figure for Jake Sully is strategic, considering his role as the central character in one of the highest-grossing film franchises in history. Both Avatar films rank among the top three highest-earning movies globally, with Avatar (2009) amassing $2.9 billion and The Way of Water (2022) reaching $2.3 billion in box office revenue. James Cameron, the director behind these blockbusters, boasts a combined box office earnings exceeding $7 billion, placing him among the most successful filmmakers alongside the Russo Bros.
While the Jake Sully Hot Toy is not yet available for pre-order and lacks an official release date, its unveiling has generated excitement among fans. Stay tuned for updates on its availability, and in the meantime, catch Avatar: The Way of Water on Disney+.
