Jennifer Lopez recently spoke about Ben Affleck’s unwavering support during tough times. Their relationship has faced scrutiny during the production of Lopez’s documentary, which has been a pivotal project for the couple.
A source close to the couple revealed to In Touch that “The Greatest Love Story Never Told” has been a make-or-break project for their marriage. According to the insider, the making of the documentary shed light on underlying issues that ultimately drove them apart.
While working on her album “This Is Me,” Ben, 51, expressed his astonishment at discovering that the 54-year-old singer had given songwriters the love letters he had sent her. “Things that are private I had always felt are sacred and special in part because they’re private,” the actor said on camera. “So, this was something of an adjustment for me.”
Lopez admitted that Ben was not entirely comfortable with her actions. “I don’t think he’s very comfortable with me doing all of this,” she confessed in the documentary. “But he loves me, he knows I’m an artist, and he’s gonna support me in every way he can because he knows he can’t stop me.”
Though Affleck didn’t try to stop her, their relationship did change after that. “They both sat back and looked at how different they really are,” the source explained. “While Jennifer loves being the center of attention, Ben would rather live his life away from the spotlight. At the end of the day, they both just want different things out of life.”
