Zine Tseng is the latest addition to the cast of the “Young Sherlock” series at Amazon Prime Video, according to Variety.
Tseng will join series lead Hero Fiennes Tiffin, along with recently announced cast members Joseph Fiennes and Natasha McElhone.
The show draws inspiration from Andy Lane’s “Young Sherlock Holmes” novels. The official series description reads: “At age 19, Sherlock Holmes is disgraced, raw, unfiltered, and unformed, when he finds himself caught up in a murder mystery at Oxford University which threatens his freedom. Diving into his first-ever case with a wild lack of discipline, Sherlock manages to unravel a globe-trotting conspiracy that will change his life forever.” Tseng has been cast as Princess Gulun Shou’an, described as a “Chinese Princess, Oxford University Scholar and skilled martial artist.”
Tseng recently starred in the big-budget Netflix series “3 Body Problem,” created by David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo, based on the Chinese novel series “Remembrance of Earth’s Past.” Her performance in the show earned her the breakthrough performance in a drama award at the inaugural Gotham TV Awards.
Tseng is represented by Artist International Group, Goodman Genow, and Shafran PR.
Matthew Parkhill serves as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner for “Young Sherlock.” Guy Ritchie is directing and executive producing. Other executive producers include Simon Kelton, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Maxwell, Dhana Gilbert, Colin Wilson, and Marc Resteghini, with Harriet Creelman co-executive producing. Motive Pictures is handling physical production.
