Jaclyn Smith, star of the original “Charlie’s Angels” series, has candidly shared her apprehension about Botox and her beauty regimen. The 76-year-old actress stated that she avoids fillers, believing it’s easy to “overdo” them in Hollywood.
In an interview with the Mail on Sunday’s You magazine, Smith explained, “I don’t believe in fillers and I haven’t done any cutting. If I put anything in my face, I use my own fat, which is hard to do.” Expressing her concerns about Botox, she added, “I’m afraid of it. My husband says if you do Botox over and over, it totally collapses the muscle. You can overdo in this town like nobody’s business. And when you get done it’s not a good look.”
Smith is married to heart surgeon Brad Allen, her fourth husband, whom she met when he operated on her late father, Jack. She gained fame for her role as Kelly Garrett in the “Charlie’s Angels” series during the late 1970s and early 1980s and appeared in the 2003 film “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” alongside Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, and Demi Moore.
The actress, who has two children with her third husband, cinematographer Anthony B. Richmond, credits Pilates and weightlifting for keeping her in good health. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002, Smith successfully battled the disease and now maintains a nutritious diet, including scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast and chicken or fish with fresh vegetables for dinner.
However, Smith admits that sticking to a healthy lifestyle can be challenging. “I try to be healthy but, damn, it’s hard. I mean, I don’t drink or smoke so can’t I have some cookies?” she added humorously.
