Salma Hayek has wished her “dear” friend Tom Cruise a happy 62nd birthday.
The 57-year-old ‘From Dusk till Dawn’ actress paid tribute to the ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ star on Wednesday (03.07.24). The pair have been close friends and colleagues in the film industry for many years.
Hayek posted a photo on her Instagram Stories of the two of them at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party in April. She captioned the image: “Happy birthday dear @tomcruise ” and added the same message in Spanish: “Feliz cumpleaños querido @tomcruise .”
In April, she shared a photo on Instagram of herself, Tom, her husband François-Henri Pinault, and singer Marc Anthony from the same party.
Although Salma and Tom have never acted together, Cruise produced her 2006 film ‘Ask the Dust,’ in which she starred alongside Colin Farrell, Donald Sutherland, and Idina Menzel.
In July 2022, the two friends were seen outside a London restaurant after dining with Hayek’s husband, whom she married in 2009.
Salma wasn’t the only celebrity wishing Tom a happy birthday. Jennifer Connelly, Cruise’s co-star in ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ posted a photo of herself riding on the back of Tom’s motorcycle during the movie’s filming. She captioned the shot: “Here’s to another trip around the sun. Happy birthday @tomcruise!”
Tom’s birthday plans remain unclear, but he was recently seen with Gillian Anderson and his ‘Mission: Impossible’ co-star Simon Pegg at Coldplay’s Glastonbury Festival performance on 30 June. Prior to that, Tom was spotted in the VIP section at Taylor Swift’s concert at Wembley Stadium on 22 June. He was accompanied by Travis Kelce, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, and Greta Gerwig, with a video posted on social media showing them dancing to Swift’s “Shake it Off.”
