Victoria Beckham has been vocal about her reluctance towards a Spice Girls reunion, despite persistent inquiries from model and actress Cara Delevingne. During a backstage encounter at Glastonbury, Delevingne admitted to “pestering” Beckham about the possibility of a reunion, to which Beckham responded firmly, “Please stop talking to me about that.”
Reflecting on her time with the group, Beckham acknowledged fond memories, especially recalling how her husband David Beckham was captivated by the Spice Girls’ music video for “Say You’ll Be There,” a moment that cemented their relationship. However, Beckham clarified that any future reunions with her former bandmates – Geri, Mel B, Mel C, and Emma – would remain private, typically through informal gatherings rather than public performances.
“We have a group chat, and I keep in touch with all the girls,” Beckham mentioned in an interview with Radio France. “While it would be nice to celebrate the group’s 30th anniversary with a dinner or lunch and reminisce, there are no plans for stage reunions.” Instead, Beckham emphasized her focus on empowering people through her fashion and beauty ventures, expressing pride in her post-Spice Girls achievements.
Although there have been playful hints at potential performances, such as a recent birthday celebration where the group sang their 1997 hit “Stop,” Beckham has consistently dismissed rumors of a formal reunion. She explained in a letter to her future self for Vogue that watching Elton John perform years ago was a turning point, inspiring her to pursue passions beyond singing and dancing.
“While being a Spice Girl was enjoyable, it wasn’t my ultimate passion,” Beckham wrote, reflecting on her decision to step away from the spotlight and explore new avenues.
Victoria Beckham’s stance on the matter remains clear: while she cherishes her past with the Spice Girls, her future endeavors lie in the realms of fashion and personal empowerment, not on stage with her former bandmates.
