Brad Pitt acknowledges the growing distance between him and his children amid his ongoing legal dispute with ex-partner Angelina Jolie. In a recent interview with InTouch Weekly, Pitt expressed concern that his children could become increasingly estranged due to their custody arrangement, where Jolie currently has primary custody.
Describing a “dark cloud” over his life, Pitt expressed a willingness to reconcile with Jolie in order to reconnect with his children. A source close to Pitt noted, “He’s remorseful for past actions and acknowledges his shortcomings as a husband and father during their time together.”
Pitt and Jolie share six children, three adopted and three biological. Their relationship has been strained since Jolie filed for divorce, citing an incident aboard a plane where Pitt allegedly acted violently towards their children.
Legal battles and tensions within the family have ensued since then, with three of their children already opting to drop Pitt’s surname. The latest, their biological daughter Shiloh, legally requested the name change, which Pitt reportedly views as a personal setback.
According to the source, Pitt fears the prospect of his children eventually speaking out against him. “They’ve remained silent so far, but there may come a time when they decide to share their side of the story,” the source explained. “Brad understands he won’t be able to silence his own children.”
The divorce settlement remains unresolved, prompting Pitt to consider a conciliatory approach. “He’s willing to concede,” the source revealed.
