Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have publicly listed their Beverly Hills home for sale as rumors of their divorce intensify. The Hollywood couple seems eager to sell the mansion quickly, further fueling speculation about troubles in their marriage.
CNN reported on Tuesday that Affleck and Lopez are selling their massive 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom California estate. The property has been renovated to the highest standards over the past four months. The public listing describes the 38,000-square-foot residence as “recently renovated with the highest level of quality within the last four months.”
Their luxurious property is located in one of Beverly Hills’s most exclusive and secure areas, known as the “magnificent Crestview Manor.” The recent move to sell the “masterpiece” mansion suggests that their reported relationship difficulties might have triggered the decision for a quick sale.
Affleck and Lopez, affectionately known as “Bennifer” by fans, first sparked romance rumors in the early 2000s. They got engaged in November 2002 but broke up before getting married. Both went on to marry and start families with others. Affleck has three children, Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Lopez is mother to twins Max and Emme, 16, with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
Surprisingly, the two rekindled their romance in 2021 and married in a Las Vegas ceremony in 2022. However, rumors of trouble began circulating in May 2024. These surfaced as Lopez was preparing for her fifth concert tour, “This Is Me,” in support of her ninth studio album. The 30-date tour, which reportedly strained their relationship, has since been canceled. On May 31, 2024, Lopez issued a heartfelt statement expressing her devastation over the decision, saying, “Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.”
Reports suggest Affleck “never felt comfortable” in their family home. The listing of their house hints that home isn’t where the heart is for the couple. US Weekly reported that the couple decided to list the house very recently, within the last week. Initially, they thought they could sell it off-market but decided to list it publicly to attract more buyers. “Ben especially wants to be done with the house. He was never happy there,” the publication stated. It also disclosed that the couple is “still living separately” and that “nothing has been decided yet as far as the divorce.”
Despite buying the property, which includes a 5,000-square-foot guest penthouse, caretaker house, two-bedroom guardhouse, 12-car garage, and parking for up to 80 vehicles, for $60 million in June 2023, it was publicly listed on July 11, 2024, for $68 million.
