During the second night of her Milan concert, Taylor Swift joked about possibly breaking her flower-painted piano during the acoustic set.
“The acoustic section is what I look forward to every night because it’s always different,” Swift said as she began with a guitar song. Playing some chords at the end of the Eras Tour catwalk, she added, “It’s also an opportunity for me to hang out with you wild people back here.”
Swift then launched into a mashup of “Mr. Perfectly Fine” from “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” and “Red (Taylor’s Version).” The San Siro Stadium lit up in bright cherry red from the wristbands worn by the audience.
Swift passionately ended the mixed songs, strumming the final notes. She then switched from her guitar to the piano.
“If you like tonight’s song selection, you can thank the crowd from last night,” Swift said at the piano. “You’ve been so generous to us. You’ve made us feel at home here. It’s been an unforgettable experience, so I wanted to play songs you’d want to hear the most.”
Swift began playing “Getaway Car” from “Reputation,” and the crowd roared. After one line, she paused as a chord sounded incorrect. A production hand came on stage to assist, turning the wristbands green.
He opened the piano top, which wouldn’t close. Swift reassured him she didn’t need it to close, and as he left, she quipped, “We have finally broken this thing.”
“This is all completely…” she began, pushing the piano top until it closed. She resumed the “Reputation” track, much to the delight of the audience.
After the first chorus, she asked, “Did I choose correctly?”
The Italian crowd roared in approval. She then blended in “Out of the Woods” from “1989 (Taylor’s Version).”
So far in the Eras Tour, Swift hasn’t played 17 songs from her 11 studio albums. Her next concert will be in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
