Taylor Swift always keeps an eye on her fans’ safety, no matter where she performs. On Sunday, July 14, during her second night at Milan’s San Siro Stadium, the 34-year-old singer paused her performance of “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” to get help for a fan in the audience.
“Aiutare, per favore,” Swift said in Italian, pointing toward a spot in the crowd. She then repeated the request in English, saying, “We need some help over there, please.”
This isn’t the first time Swift has stopped her massive Eras Tour to ensure fan safety. On the first night of her performance in Edinburgh, Scotland, she refused to continue until a fan received assistance. “She’s right there. I’m just gonna keep playing until somebody helps them,” Swift said, strumming her guitar. “Just let me know. I can do this all night.” Once the fans were helped, Swift checked in and said, “Awesome!” before moving on to the next song.
The following night in Milan, Swift paused her show four times to request help from venue staff.
Fan assistance wasn’t the only issue during Swift’s Milan shows. She had to pause the acoustic section of her first Milan performance after swallowing a bug. “I knew it would happen because there are so many bugs here tonight,” she told the crowd. “One sec, I just need to cough a little bit.”
Despite these interruptions, Swift wowed her fans with changes to her Eras set and costumes. She unveiled a new gown during her Speak Now set, wore a black-and-gold dress during the Fearless portion of the concert, and updated the lyrics on her white gown during the TTPD section. The new white gown read, “Who’s afraid of little old me? You should be.”
While performing in Italy, Swift also won three Kids’ Choice Awards. She took home awards for Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Global Music Star, and Favorite Ticket of the Year for the Eras Tour. Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, won an award for Favorite Male Sports Star. He was unable to attend the awards show as he was competing in the 2024 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship in Nevada.
