Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon have both been nominated for Emmy Awards for their roles in the Apple TV+ series The Morning Show. These Hollywood A-listers, who are also longtime friends, are competing in the “Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series” category.
In The Morning Show, Jennifer Aniston, 55, plays Alex Levy, while Reese Witherspoon, 48, portrays Bradley Jackson. The show offers a behind-the-scenes look at the culture of a network broadcasting morning news program.
Other nominees in the same category include Carrie Coon for The Gilded Age, Maya Erskine for Mr & Mrs Smith, Ana Sawai for Shogun, and Imelda Staunton for The Crown. Given the talent and popularity of these shows, the competition is fierce.
This isn’t the first time either actress has been nominated for an Emmy. Jennifer and Reese were nominated in the same category for The Morning Show in 2020 and 2022. Jennifer won an Emmy for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series” in 2022 for her role as Rachel Green on Friends, while Reese won an Emmy for producing Big Little Lies in 2017.
