Mark Wahlberg, known for his dedication both on screen and in the gym, has made a significant change to his workout schedule. The star of Arthur the King has always been an early riser for his workouts, but he has now pushed his gym time even earlier.
On July 21, Wahlberg took to Instagram to share his new workout routine. “My week starts on Sunday [at] 2 a.m.,” he wrote in the caption. The post also highlighted his clothing brand, Municipal. While early-morning workouts are a staple of Wahlberg’s routine, this adjustment marks a shift from his previous schedule.
In 2019, Wahlberg told Men’s Journal that he typically begins his day with breakfast at 3:45 a.m., heads to the gym by 4 a.m., prays at 5 a.m., and then plays golf by 6 a.m. “Nothing impedes on family time, so I sacrifice my mornings,” he explained. “I thrive on the grind.”
Despite his disciplined routine, Wahlberg admits that rising early isn’t always easy. He told People in February that he uses strategies like a cold plunge to overcome the urge to sleep in. “I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m awake, I’m alive.’ We’re a go right after that,” he said about his pre-workout ritual.
For those interested in adopting a similar lifestyle but who also enjoy their sleep, Wahlberg’s new schedule might be worth considering. You could wake up at his hours for the gym, then shower and return to bed before starting your day.
