The first trailer for the Netflix comedy “Incoming” has been unveiled, featuring Kaitlin Olson from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The film, set to premiere on August 23, is created by Dave and John Chernin, known for their work on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
In addition to Olson, the cast includes Mason Thames from The Black Phone, Bobby Cannavale from Ant-Man, Bardia Seiri (Grey’s Anatomy), Ramon Reed (Just Roll with It), and Raphael Alejandro (Acapulco). The film also stars Scott MacArthur, Isabella Ferreira, Ali Gallo, and Loren Gray.
“Incoming” centers on a group of high school freshmen and the wild night they experience at a party they crash. The trailer suggests the event will be quite a spectacle, as the teens navigate their first high school party and grapple with their social status.
A standout moment in the trailer features Loren Gray, a singer and TikTok star, playing a tipsy partygoer who insists on being taken to Taco Bell.
The Chernin brothers drew inspiration from a similar party they witnessed as children. “I remember me and Dave sitting by a window with the lights off, just watching this wild high school party next door. It was the craziest thing I had ever seen,” John Chernin shared with Netflix’s Tudum.
The Chernins aimed to capture the spirit of classic ’80s coming-of-age films like Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. “We wanted to make something that felt like a throwback but relevant to today’s audience,” Dave Chernin said. “This is the kind of movie that doesn’t come around often anymore—just something silly that values laughter above all else.”
“Incoming” will be available on Netflix starting August 23.
